II* Byfield House (www.byfieldhouse.com) has origins in the 16th Century with a medieval oak door,
a historic Tudor Hall, a fine 17th Century Barn and important “Adam” plasterwork
in the 18th Century Drawing Room. It is filled with lovely old rugs and
furniture, a wonderful house, steeped in history.
Only two hours from London by car, Byfield House is in Painswick, a delightfully unspoilt Cotswold stone village with several pubs and restaurants, a bank, surgery, chemist, post office, small village shop and some unique gift and antique galleries.

Painswick is set amidst glorious countryside renowned for its wonderful walks, large areas of National Trust woodlands, panoramic views and the 100 mile Cotswold Way footpath which meanders its way through the village.
Many historic houses, golf courses and famous Cotswold Market Towns are within easy reach and the elegant Spa towns of Cheltenham and Bath offer luxurious shopping. A fifteen minute drive takes you to Tetbury, a paradise for anyone with an interest in antiques.
